Team
- With Mizzou's 49-24 victory at Toledo, the Tigers have started 2-0 for the seventh time out of the last nine seasons, and for the second year in a row.
- The Tigers have now won their first road game of the season for the second consecutive year. The Tigers won at Indiana last season.
- Overall, Missouri has won six consecutive road contests dating back to the 2012 season.
- Head Coach Gary Pinkel's squad has now won seven non-conference road games in his tenure, posting a 6-1 mark in such contests since the 2006 season.
- Mizzou extended its nation-leading streak of games forcing a turnover to 46 games in one of the more unique plays of the streak. Senior WR Bud Sasser chased down a Toledo defender after an interception, forcing a fumble that was recovered by fellow senior WR Jimmie Hunt at the Missouri 9-yard line with 59 seconds remaining in 1Q.
- Sasser's forced fumble was especially significant, according to MU historian Tom Orf, as he was the first Mizzou offensive player to force a fumble since the 2007 season. Former Mizzou QB Chase Daniel forced a fumble in the 2008 Cotton Bowl.
- The Tiger defense notched its first takeaway not long after with the second interception of the season by sophomore CB Aarion Penton at the Missouri 37-yard line. Penton returned the pick 38 yards to the Toledo 25-yard line and Mizzou took over at 13:27 2Q.
- Mizzou has scored at least 41 points in seven of its last eight away or neutral contests. The only outlier was Mizzou's strong 24-10 victory at No. 24 Ole Miss last season.
Individual Offense
- Sophomore QB Maty Mauk tied a school record with five touchdown throws on 21-for-32 passing (325 yards) for his fourth career game with 3+ passing touchdowns. His four games with 3+ scoring throws is tied for the fifth-most in Mizzou history with Kirk Farmer (1999-2002), Jeff Handy (1991-94) and Phil Johnson (1990-92).
- Mauk tied his career high for scoring throws. He also tossed five TD passes last season at Kentucky.
- Mauk set a new career-best in completions and yards with his 21-for-32 passing day at Toledo. His 325 passing yards broke his previous career-high (295 vs. Florida, 2013) and was his first career 300-yard passing game.
- Senior WR Bud Sasser had a career game, totaling a career-high 121 receiving yards while setting a career-high in receptions (5). Sasser also recorded his first career forced fumble in 1Q action.
- Sasser's long reception, a 47-yard catch that was immediately followed by his 25-yard scoring catch at 4:21 3Q, was his longest snag since a 60-yard reception in Mizzou's 2013 win at Ole Miss.
- Sophomore TE Sean Culkin set a career-best in receptions on the very first Mizzou drive, hauling in two catches for 23 yards. His previous career-high was one reception in last season's win vs. Murray State.
- Senior WR Darius White snagged a 45-yard reception from sophomore QB Maty Mauk in 1Q action, his third catch of season covering at least 39 yards. White had catches for 44 and 39 yards in the 1Q vs. South Dakota State, both of which went for touchdowns.
- White's 45-yard grab, the longest of his career, set up an eventual score for the Tigers. Mauk scrambled to his right and found White in the end zone from seven yards out for White's third touchdown catch of the season.
- White's four catches (60 yards) in the first half set new career-best for the senior. He finished the game with five catches for 69 yards.
- Senior TB Marcus Murphy set a new career-long with a 26-yard reception that took Mizzou down to the Toledo 13-yard line. The Tigers scored on the following play at 6:12 2Q. Murphy's previous career-long came against Auburn (24) in the SEC Championship Game last season.
- Murphy reached the end zone with a 13-yard catch off a screen pass from Mauk in the third quarter, giving Mizzou a 35-7 lead at 8:53 3Q. The snag was the second touchdown catch of Murphy's career, with the previous being a 10-yard scoring catch from James Franklin in the SEC Championship Game last season.
Individual Defense
- Sophomore DL Harold Brantley recorded Mizzou's first blocked field goal since last season at Ole Miss, which Brantley also blocked. The Tiger snuffed out a Toledo 44-yard field goal attempt at 9:17 2Q.
- Senior DE Markus Golden recorded 2.0 tackles-for-loss for his fourth career game with at least 2.0 TFL. Golden finished the game with six tackles, as well as 1.0 sack.
- Junior DE Shane Ray set a new career-high with 2.0 sacks (14 yards lost) among three stops. His 2.0 tackles-for-loss matched a career-best.
- Sophomore CB Aarion Penton recorded his second interception of 2014 and third of his career in 2Q action. Penton stepped in front of a pass from UT QB Phillip Ely at the Missouri 37-yard line and returned it 38 yards to the Toledo 25-yard line. Mizzou took over possession at 13:27 2Q.
- Sophomore CB John Gibson set a new career-best in pass breakups with two.
