Women's 2014-15 Schedule
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou swimming and diving head coach Greg Rhodenbaugh announced his team's 2014-15 schedule on Thursday, which features six home events at the Mizzou Aquatic Center, including the seventh annual Mizzou Invite.
The Tigers open the season at home on Oct. 3 with the ninth annual Show-Me Showdown, where Mizzou will be joined in the pool by nine other Missouri universities: Drury, Lindenwood, Maryville, Missouri S&T, Missouri State, Truman State, Missouri-Saint Louis, Washington University and William Jewell.
Following the Showdown, the Tiger women travel to Fayetteville, Ark., on Friday, Oct. 24 for a Southeastern Conference clash with Arkansas at 2 p.m.
On Friday, Oct. 31, both teams return to the pool as Missouri hosts Missouri State at 5 p.m. The Tigers then head to Lexington, Ky., for a two-day meet against host Kentucky, Northwestern and Southern Illinois from Friday, Nov. 7 – Saturday, Nov. 8.
Mizzou returns to the Mizzou Aquatic Center in late November for the seventh annual Mizzou Invite Nov. 20-22. The championship-format meet pits the Missouri against Drury, Florida International, Illinois, Missouri S&T, New Mexico, UNLV and West Virginia over three days of competition.
With the swimmers idle until January, the Mizzou divers will compete at the USA Diving Winter National Championships in Columbus, Ohio, Dec. 16-21. The divers then head to Knoxville, Tenn., Jan. 2-4 for the three-day Tennessee Diving Invite.
On Jan. 17, Mizzou faces off against South Carolina in a SEC meet in Columbia, S.C. The Tigers then return home to host Drury on Friday, Jan. 23, followed by a SEC clash against Auburn on Thursday, Jan. 29. Missouri closes out the regular season with the Tiger Invite at the Mizzou Aquatic Center, Jan. 30-31.
Postseason competition begins at the SEC Championships, hosted by Auburn Feb. 17-21. At the conference championship event, which features 12 women's teams and 10 men's teams, Mizzou will face a total of five men's and five women's teams that finished in the top 16 in 2014.
Following SECs, Tiger women who need NCAA qualifying times will travel the Boiler-Make-It Last Chance meet in West Lafayette, Ind., on Feb. 28 , while the men will head to Austin, Texas, for the American Short Course Championships, March 5-7.
From March 9-11 the Mizzou divers will vie for NCAA Championship berths at the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships in Iowa City, Iowa.
The 2014 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships will be held in Greensboro, N.C., March 19-21, while the men's national championship event will take place the following weekend, March 26-28, in Iowa City, Iowa.
