
Mizzou Takes Johnie Imes Tournament Title

Columbia, Mo. - Mizzou Women's Golf finished strong at the Seventh Annual Johnie Imes Invitational. Held at Columbia's own Club at Old Hawthorne, Mizzou took first overall with a final tally 18-under par. The Tigers set tournament records with their team totals from the first and second rounds (282, 280) and their third round tally of 284 matched the previous record set by Oklahoma State in 2010.
Kansas State (-14) , Middle Tennessee (-2) and FIU (-2) round out the top three teams in the tournament, marking the third consecutive Johnie Imes that Kansas State has finished among the top three teams.
Three Tigers finished among the top-10 in the tournament as senior Alina Rogers tied for second overall. Rogers shot 1-over par in the final round to finish the tournament 6-under par. Fellow senior Laura Kraft was not far behind as she closed out tournament play 4-under par for a fourth place finish overall.
Freshman Clara Young also placed among the top-10 competitors as she tied for eighth with a score 2-under par. Sophomore Jess Meek closed the tournament just a shot behind Young, finishing in a tie for 11th overall.
Kat Hepler closed out tournament play with a score 5-over par. She finished strong, however, sitting in a tie for 26th overall. Playing as an individual, Haelena Schwemmer tied for 65th in the tournament with a score 20-over par.
Also completing the tournament field at the 7,221-yard, Par 72 course at The Club at Old Hawthorne is Bradley, Coastal Carolina, Florida Gulf Coast, Florida International, Illinois State, Kansas State, Middle Tennessee State, Mizzou, Oklahoma City, Redlands Community College, Southern Illinois, South Florida, UALR, UMKC and Wichita State.
