
Women's Golf Among Top Three at Johnie Imes

Columbia, Mo. - Mizzou Women's Golf is currently in second place with a score 6-under par (282) after 18 holes of play at The Johnie Imes Invitational. Mizzou and the Club at Old Hawthorne are hosting the invitational Monday, Sept. 29 and Tuesday, Sept. 30. Tournament play began at 8:15 a.m. in a shotgun format, and the second round of play is currently underway.
Mizzou senior Laura Kraft is leading the way for the Tigers, owning a 4-under-par 68. The Jamestown, N.D., native got off to a hot start by earning birdies on holes four, five and nine. Mizzou's Alina Rogers posted a 3-under par 69 in the first round of play as well.
Kansas State currently owns a two-shot lead in the tournament with a score of 8-under par (280). Wildcat Connie Jaffrey is in the lead among all players with a 5-under par 67.
The 7,221-yard, par 72 course at The Club at Old Hawthorne is located on East Broadway in Columbia. The Tigers are welcoming a field of 14 other teams consisting of Bradley, Coastal Carolina, Florida Gulf Coast, Florida International, Illinois State, Kansas State, Middle Tennessee State, Oklahoma City, Redlands Community College, Southern Illinois, South Florida, UALR, UMKC and Wichita State.
Tournament play will continue Monday with the second round and conclude with the third round of play on Tuesday with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. Live scoring for the tournament will be provided through BirdieFire and can found here: http://bfire.co/-abfcd/.
