Ryan Zech (-1) shot a 1-under-par 69 and is tied for 18th after 36 holes of play at the 2014 NCAA Men's Golf Championship, played today at Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kan. Inclement weather again stalled competition on Sunday and the third round will be completed Monday.
Missouri is 18th overall, nine shots removed from the top eight. No. 3 Stanford (-12) leads the Championship, followed by Alabama (-8) and Oklahoma State (-4). Stanford's Cameron Wilson (-6) shot 63 in the second round and is the individual leader through 36 holes.
Zech used four birdies to finish 1-under on Sunday. He began the day tied for 46th, but moved 28 spots up the leaderboard thanks to a strong finish that included a birdie on the 18th hole. He enters the third round just two shots outside of the Top 10.
Teammate Emilio Cuartero (-1) is also tied for 18th after shooting 72 today. The senior from Lleida, Spain, was steady in his second round, recording 16 pars and just two bogeys to remain in the hunt for a Top 10 finish.
Hunter Kraus (+7) was third for the Tigers on Sunday shooting a 2-over-par 72. Kraus dropped three shots off his round-one score.
Rounding out the scoring for Missouri was Wilson Sundvold (+12), who shot 76, and Euan Walker (+8) who shot 77.
Play at the 2014 NCAA Golf Championship will continue on Monday.
