No. 15 Mizzou 5, Missouri State 0 - Game Notes
After Wednesday's victory, Mizzou improved to 7-0 against Missouri State under head coach Ehren Earleywine.
The Tigers have thoroughly controlled the last three meetings with the in-state school, outscoring the Bears a combined 24-0.
Freshman P Tori Finucane worked through 7.0 spotless innings en route to a complete game shutout. Finucane gave up just three hits and struck out five.
In 147.2 innings in the circle, Finucane has a 1.61 ERA in 2014. The ace hurler has won seven consecutive decisions from April 9 through April 23. That is the longest winning streak for a Mizzou pitcher since Chelsea Thomas won eight-straight decisions last season.
Redshirt sophomore catcher Alyssa Cousins earned her second start of 2014 and first behind the plate. She cashed in on the opportunity, throwing a dart to catch Missouri State's first base runner of the game attempting to steal second.
Junior IF Corrin Genovese went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Genovese has 27 multi-hit games in her career and 12 in 2014.
Junior 3B/C Angela Randazzo ripped her second triple of the season and fourth of her career in the bottom of the fourth.
Randazzo added her sixth home run of 2014 in the bottom of the sixth, recording her team-leading 29th career multi-hit game. With two RBI on Wednesday, she has 23 career multi-RBI performances.
Gadbois recorded another steal. The speedster has an SEC-leading 41 swipes, which ties former MU player Kris Schmidt for sixth all-time on the Mizzou single-season stolen bases list.
