• Mizzou Men's Basketball (3-3) returns home to Mizzou Arena to take on Southeast Missouri State (3-3) on Tuesday, Dec. 2, with a 7 p.m. tip-off on SEC Network +. The Tigers recently wrapped up a 1-2 trip in the program's fourth all-time appearance at the EA Sports Maui Invitational with a 74-60 win over host school Chaminade (Nov. 26).
• Freshman guard Namon Wright led the way in Mizzou's win over Chaminade, scoring 21 points in a perfect 7-of-7 FG shooting game. Wright was especially effective from deep, connecting on 4-of-4 three-point attempts.
• Mizzou is 7-0 all-time vs. SEMO, with the latest win in the series coming at home in 2012-13 (81-65).
LAST TIME OUT...
• Mizzou Basketball took care of business in its final EA Sports Maui Invitational game, defeating host school Chaminade by a score of 74-60 (Nov. 26) inside the Lahaina Civic Center. The Tigers went 1-2 in their fourth all-time appearance at the event, dropping results to No. 2 Arizona (72-53) and Purdue (82-61). Missouri is 7-5 all-time at the Maui tournament after this past week's results.
• Against Chaminade, it was the Namon Wright Show. The Tiger freshman shot perfectly from the field en route to a career-best 21 points, hitting 7-of-7 field goal attempts. Wright was dialed in from deep range, hitting 4-of-4 three-point attempts. He made 3-of-4 free throws, while also grabbing six rebounds.
• Following up Wright's strong effort was fellow classmate and guard Montaque Gill-Caesar with 18 points on 5-of-11 FG shooting. Gill-Caesar dropped in four three pointers (4-of-8) and hit 4-of-4 free throws.
• Impressively, sophomore guard Wes Clark led the Tigers on the boards with nine rebounds, a career-high effort.
• Chaminade's Lee Bailey led the Silverswords with 22 points on 7-of-15 FG shooting, hitting 3-of-7 shots from behind the three-point line.
A LOOK AT THE OPPONENT... SOUTHEAST MISSOURI STATE
• The Southeast Missouri State Redhawks have posted a 3-3 record thus far in the 2014-15 season, including a 1-2 mark in away games.
• In most recent action, head coach Dickey Nutt's team defeated Alabama A&M by a score of 85-51. SEMO's leading scorer, senior forward Jarekious Bradley, dropped in 17 points to do well by his 17.5-point per game average so far this year.
• The Redhawks additionally outrebounded Alabama A&M 49-38 and limited themselves to 11 turnovers, as opposed to 19 for the Bulldogs.
• Ball control has been an important element to SEMO's start to the 2014-15 season, with junior guard J.J. Thompson providing help in that area. A transfer from Houston, Thompson has 22 assists to 10 turnovers for a noteworthy 2.2 assist/turnover ratio this season.
• SEMO's leading rebounder, senior forward Aaron Adeoye, has totaled 40 rebounds this season. That amounts to a 6.7-rebound per game average for the transfer from Western Kentucky.
RECAPPING THE MAUI INVITATIONAL...
• Mizzou played in its fourth EA Sports Maui Invitational from Nov. 24-26, with the Tigers posting a 1-2 mark in the event. The tournament is hosted by Chaminade University inside the Lahaina Civic Center in Maui, Hawaii. Missouri made its first appearance in what was then called the "Silversword Classic" in 1986, and has also appeared in the tournament's field in 1989 and 1997. The Tigers are now 7-5 all-time at the Maui Invitational, winning the event's 1989 edition.
• Head coach Kim Anderson's squad took on No. 2 Arizona (Nov. 24) to start the tournament, falling 72-53 to the high-powered Wildcats. The Tigers saw three players reach double figures in scoring, with freshman guard Montaque Gill-Caesar leading the way with 13 points.
• The Tigers then drew Purdue in the consolation bracket (Nov. 25), dropping an 82-61 result to the Boilermakers. Sophomore forward Johnathan Williams, III led Mizzou with 14 points, while senior guard Keith Shamburger recorded his second-straight game with 11 points.
• Mizzou took care of business in its final game, downing Chaminade by a score of 74-60 behind a strong showing by the freshmen. Guard Namon Wright scored 21 points on perfect 7-of-7 FG shooting, and Gill-Caesar followed up with 18 points, his fourth game this season scoring at least 13 points.
