COLUMBIA, Mo.- The Mizzou men's swimming and diving team is ranked third nationally in the Nov. 26 College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) NCAA Division I Men's Team Rankings, the CSCAA announced on Wednesday. The No. 3 ranking is the highest in program history, besting the No. 7 ranking the squad earned on Dec. 11, 2013.
The Tigers, who were ranked 16th in the previous poll on Nov. 13, rocketed up the rankings with their performance at the 2014 Mizzou Invite last week. During the three-day meet, Missouri recorded two individual NCAA `A' qualifying times, one relay NCAA `A' cut and set nine school records. Mizzou also claimed wins in 16 of the 20 events in which it competed.
The CSCAA poll is not designed to predict the results of the NCAA Championships, but rather teams which teams would win head-to-head against other teams in the country. Rankings are based on performances that have taken place since the previous poll and include invites as well as dual meets.
