Columbia, Mo.-- Mizzou Golf announced the signing of Mission Hills, Kansas, native Preston Fleenor to its 2015 class Tuesday.
Under Head Coach Evan Scobie at The Pembroke Hill School in Kansas City, Missouri, Fleenor has developed into one of Missouri's top prospects. Fleenor is a three time all-state award winner and two-time district champion. During his junior year, Fleenor led the Raiders to a Class 3 State Championship, individually taking the district title, tying for fourth at sectionals and taking seventh at state. Fleenor has never finished outside the top 10 in the state tournament.
"We are excited to welcome Preston to the Mizzou family," Head Coach Mark Leroux said. "As the best prospect for his class coming out of St. Louis and Kansas City, he will have an opportunity to make an immediate impact when he arrives on campus in the fall."
Fleenor has also competed nationally with the American Junior Golf Association, earning eight top-20 finishes during his AJGA career. Fleenor posted one AJGA victory at the Lockton / Samsung Kansas City Junior in 2012. During the 2014 AJGA season, Fleenor tied for eighth at the Under Armour® / Hunter Mahan Championship, tied for 11th at the TaylorMade-adidas Golf Junior at Innisbrook hosted by Sean O'Hair and tied for fifth at the Lockton / Samsung Kansas City Junior.
