COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou volleyball closes a weekend homestand on Sunday (Nov. 16) against Ole Miss in a match that will air live on the SEC Network. Thad Anderson and Jennifer Hoffman will be on the call. This is the second meeting between Mizzou and Ole Miss this season. The schools have a coaching connection as Wayne and Susan Kreklow and Steven McRoberts have deep roots dating back to their days coaching in the NAIA. The Kreklows coached Columbia College to a pair of NAIA Championships in 1998 and 1999 and McRoberts led Lubbock Christian to seven conference titles in eight years.

Mizzou and Ole Miss' series dates back to 1980 and Mizzou holds a 7-5 lead in the all-time series. However, Ole Miss has never won in Columbia (0-4). Wayne Kreklow has faced Ole Miss six times, holding a 3-3 record in those matches. Ole Miss won, 3-0, earlier this season in Oxford.

Balance has been the key for the Tiger offense as of late. Over the last six matches, at least five different attackers have finished with five or more kills in every match, the longest such streak of the season for the Tigers. In that span, Mizzou's top six attackers are all averaging at least 1.80 kills per set while no player is averaging more than 2.83. The six attackers have combined for 12.80 kills per set. In SEC play, five of Mizzou's top six hitters are all hitting .200 or better as well, while four of the six check in at .255 or better.

A pair of Tiger `Emilys' have been on fire as of late and have been key for the Tiger offense. Senior outside hitter Emily Wilson is averaging 2.58 kills per set on .314 hitting over her last eight matches and sophomore middle Emily Thater has 35 kills on .395 hitting over her last five contests.

Despite the loss to Georgia Friday night, a pair of Tigers had career nights as freshman Kasey Reuter and sophomore Julia Towler each turned in career-high kill performances. Reuter, who previously had a career-high of 11 kills at South Carolina, posted 15 on .270 hitting with six digs and an ace. Towler came off the bench and tallied 10 kills on .412 hitting with a team-high three blocks as well.

Recapping Georgia
Mizzou volleyball lost to Georgia, 3-2 (19-25, 27-25, 25-23, 17-25, 11-15), on Friday night. The loss drops the Tigers to 15-14 overall and 6-8 in SEC play. Freshman Kasey Reuter tallied a career-high 15 kills on .270 hitting and sophomore Julia Towler also finished with a career-high 10 kills, doing so on .412 hitting. Mizzou finished with more kills and more digs than UGA, but 35 attack errors cost the Tigers in the loss. In addition to 35 attack errors, Mizzou also committed five ball-handling errors, seven blocking errors and eight service errors in the match. In addition to Reuter and Towler, Mizzou got nice nights from Emily Wilson, who tallied 14 kills, and Regan Peltier who pitched in 10 kills. Senior Whitney Little (Keller, Texas) added nine kills on .278 hitting as well.
