Mizzou Basketball Hosts Successful Hoops 101 Event

Nov. 11, 2014

Columbia, Mo. -Mizzou Basketball's annual Hoops 101 event was held on Thursday, Nov. 6 in Mizzou Arena, and, as promised, the event was filled with food, fun, prizes and basketball!

Open to all female Tiger fans, tickets to the event included an exclusive Mizzou wine glass, a free ticket to Mizzou's game against UMSL and a raffle entry. Those who attended the event were treated to a night of wine tasting, arena tours and appearances from Mizzou Basketball's head coaches, Kim Anderson and Robin Pingeton.

"The Hoops 101 event is a great opportunity to celebrate our basketball programs while raising funds for nonprofits near and dear to the hearts of Mizzou Basketball," said Assistant Director of External Engagement, Lorraine Rodriguez. "This event is unique in that it changes every year. I'm always excited to see what the wives come up with each year, and this one was no exception. The funds raised from ticket, raffle, and wine glass sales will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Columbia and The Caring People, two great programs chosen by our Men's & Women's Basketball programs."

Attendees had the opportunity to win raffle items such as L.C. Betz jewelry, a Tan Tar A Resort stay, Mizzou Basketball suite packages, salon packages, Mizzou apparel and gear, and restaurant gift certificates.
