Zech Earns Top-10 Finish at All-America Golf Classic

Columbia, Mo.- Mizzou Golf All-American Ryan Zech tied for sixth at the Sun Bowl Western Refining College All-America Golf Classic in El Paso, Texas, Nov. 8-9, after carding a score of 5-under-par 208.

Zech led the elite field of 20 golfers after the first round with a score of 5-under-par 66. The Kearney, Mo., native remained even throughout the rest of the event, placing higher than eight competitors ranked above him in the Golfstat Rankings.

The event took place on the par 71, 6,889-yard course at El Paso Country Club. Gavin Green of New Mexico defended his 2013 title with a 14-under-par 199 to win by seven strokes.

Mizzou Golf alums Stan Utley, Shawn Jasper and Jace Long also competed in the event during their time at Mizzou. Long earned the best all-time Tiger finish at the tournament when he tied for second in 2011. Missouri assistant coach Judd Easterling represented his alma mater, Wichita State, at the event in 2004.
