Fans Encouraged To Ride Bikes To Faurot On Oct. 11 Vs. Georgia

Oct. 6, 2014 COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou Athletics' commitment to environmental sustainability continues this Saturday at Faurot Field, as fans are encouraged to ride their bikes to the Oct. 11 Mizzou Football game against Georgia.

A designated area on the east side of the Hearnes Center will be available with bike racks and railing lock locations for the event's participants. Fans are asked to bring their own lock to secure their bike, as Mizzou Athletics is not responsible for any stolen bicycles. For a detailed map of the designated bike racks on Oct. 11, click here.

Mizzou Athletics also encourages Saturday's participants to promote effective safety precautions. This includes wearing a helmet at all times, wearing reflective clothing if traveling at night and being equipped with functioning bike lights.

Fans who participate in the day's bike promotion will be eligible to enter an exclusive raffle. Once fans lock their bikes at the east doors of the Hearnes, they can check-in with volunteers who will give them a raffle ticket.

On Monday, Oct. 13 following the Mizzou Football game, Mizzou Athletics will announce the raffle winners on Twitter (@MizzouGameday). Three prizes will be raffled off including Mizzou apparel for the first two winners, and the grand prize being a Gary Pinkel autographed football.

Mizzou Athletics is aided in its work towards greater sustainability at its events by implementing programs built by the University of Missouri's Campus Sustainability Office and Sustain Mizzou, a student organization.

Mizzou Athletics would like to remind fans to consider taking efforts towards sustainability while tailgating for and attending Mizzou Football games.
