After capturing its first dual meet win with an upset victory over then-No.22 Arkansas, the women's team looks to continue its early season success this weekend. The Tigers swept the Southeastern Conference's weekly awards as senior Danielle Barbiea, junior Lauren Reedy and freshman Hannah Stevens each received honors for their performances against the Razorbacks.
The women's relay teams will also try to keep their early season momentum going. The Tigers bookended the meet against Arkansas with wins in the 200 medley relay and 400 free relay. The women's relay teams are undefeated thus far in the 2014-15 campaign.
The men's swimming and diving squad was idle last week after winning the Show-Me Showdown to start its season at the beginning of October. It will be the first dual meet for the Tiger men this year.
Redshirt junior transfer Matthew Margritier is coming off a dominant outing in the 50 free in which he clocked a 20.09. That time has him ranked eighth in the NCAA in that event and gives him an NCAA `B' qualifying time heading into Friday.
In the diving well, junior Clark Thomas started his season off with a bang at the Show-Me Showdown, scoring 318.80 points to win the 3-meter competition. He'll also seek to remain undefeated against the Bears.
Friday marks the second time this season that the Tigers and Bears will face off at the Mizzou Aquatic Center. Missouri State competed at the Show-Me Showdown and both the men's and women's teams finished third overall.
