Mizzou Sweeps SEC Women's Swimming and Diving Weekly Awards

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Mizzou women's swimming and diving team swept the Southeastern Conference weekly awards as senior Danielle Barbiea, junior Lauren Reedy and freshman Hannah Stevens earned accolades for their performances against No. 22 Arkansas, the league announced on Oct. 28.

Barbiea claimed SEC Female Swimmer of the Week honors, while Reedy received SEC Female Diver of the Week accolades and Stevens was named the SEC Female Freshman of the Week after the trio helped Mizzou post a 166-134 win at No. 22 Arkansas on Oct. 24.

A native of Springboro, Ohio, Barbiea won two individual and helped the Tigers to two relay wins against the Razorbacks. She claimed first-place honors in both the 100 fly (53.45) and 50 free (23.30), as well as helping the Tigers to wins in the 200 medley relay (1:41.40) and 400 free relay (3:23.16). Her 100 fly time of 53.45 ranks sixth nationally and was an NCAA 'B' qualifying time. A seven-time All-America honorable mention, Barbiea has three individual event wins in so far this season.

Reedy earned her second career SEC Female Diver of the Week honor after she took first-place on 1-meter and second against Arkansas. She tallied a score of 299.63 on 1-meter and 290.18 on 3-meter on Oct. 24 to give her three event titles in four attempts this season. The Rochester Hills, Mich., native also holds the top 1-meter score (336.00) of 2014 in the SEC.

Against the Razorbacks, Stevens swept the backstroke events to claim the first two event wins of her collegiate career. She clocked season best times with victories in the 100 back (55.33) and 200 back (1:58.92), the latter of which was an NCAA 'B' time. Stevens, who hails from Lexington, Ohio, also helped the Tigers to wins in the 200 medley relay (1:41.40) and 400 free relay (3:23.16) against the Razorbacks.

The Tigers return to the pool on Friday, Oct. 31 at 3 p.m. when the team hosts Missouri State at the Mizzou Aquatic Center.
