The women's squad is coming off a season-opening victory over eight opponents at the Show-Me Showdown. With 13 total event wins, the Tigers notched 696 points at the meet and beat second-place Drury by more than 200 points.
Mizzou is anchored by sophomore Katharine Ross, who claimed two individual victories at the Show-Me Showdown by winning the 100 breast and 200 IM. Ross clinched an NCAA `B' qualifying time in the 100 breast with a 1:01.74, which is currently the seventh-fastest time in the nation in 2014. Ross will face Razorback standout Nicole Daniels on Friday, who is ranked sixth in the NCAA in 100 breast after touching in at 1:01.63 against Florida.
Tiger Freshman Rachel Hayden has also started her season off with a bang. Hayden grabbed her first two career wins in the 100 free and 200 free at the Show-Me Showdown and will look to secure her first conference win this weekend.
Junior Lauren Reedy leads a veteran crop of Tiger divers this year. Reedy already owns the school record in the 1-meter dive and ranks third all time at Mizzou in the 3-meter dive. She swept both events at the season-opening meet. The junior will seek to shatter her own record, as the 2014-15 campaign gets under way.
Arkansas is 0-2 thus far in SEC action after falling to Florida and Texas A&M. Talented distance swimmer Anna Mayfield leads the Razorbacks. The junior from San Antonio, Texas, is currently ranked seventh in the NCAA in the 500 free with a 4:49.42 and 22nd in the 200 back behind a 1:58.76.
Both teams feature solid relay squads. Arkansas and Mizzou each have 200 free, 400 free and 200 medley relay teams ranked in the Top 25 nationally heading into Friday's dual meet. The Tigers' 200 medley relay team of Hannah Stevens, Abby Duncan, Dani Barbiea and Anna Patterson holds the nation's 13th best time after posting a 1:41.64 at the Show-Me Showdown.
