COLUMBIA, Mo.- Winner of seven of its last eight and 20 consecutive SEC matches, Mizzou volleyball will face a tough road test at Ole Miss on Wednesday (Oct. 1). The Rebels come into Wednesday's match at 14-2 and 0-2 in SEC play but boast an unblemished 7-0 home record. Mizzou is 2-1 in true road contests this season and comes into the contest at 11-5 and 2-0 in SEC play. Wednesday's match will air live on SEC Network with Adam Amin and former Nebraska Husker Hannah Werth on the call.

Mizzou's offense has been incredibly balanced in league play thus far, something head coach Wayne Kreklow envisioned when implementing the 6-2 system that the Tigers are using this year. In SEC play, five Tigers are averaging more than 2.00 kills per set and those five players are averaging a combined 13.99 kills per set on .340 hitting in league play. Mizzou's 16.00 kills per set clip in league matches is tops in the SEC.

After running the table with a perfect 18-0 mark in SEC play last year and winning their first two SEC matches this season, the Tigers have won their last 20 SEC matches. That is obviously a school record for consecutive league wins and the Tigers have not lost an SEC match since Nov. 23, 2012. 14 of the 20 wins in that span have come via the sweep.

Mizzou and Ole Miss' series dates back to 1980 and Mizzou holds a 7-4 lead in the all-time series. However, the Tigers have never won in Oxford with Ole Miss winning in 2007 and 2012 at Gillom Sports Center. Wayne Kreklow has faced Ole Miss five times, holding a 3-2 record in those matches. The Tigers won the most recent meeting, a 3-0 sweep at the Hearnes Center last season.

Through two SEC matches, Mizzou leads the league in kills per set (16.00) and digs per set (15.00) while ranking third in both hitting and opponent hitting. The Tigers are also second in the SEC in service aces in league play.

Recapping Tennessee
Mizzou defeated Tennessee, 3-0 (25-19, 25-15, 25-16) on Sunday morning at the Hearnes Center. The win improved the Tigers to 11-5 and 2-0 in SEC play and extended the Tigers' school record streak to 20 consecutive SEC wins. All-Americans Whitney Little and Carly Kan each tallied nine kills while Little did so on .471 hitting with four blocks. Kan added seven digs as well. In all, Mizzou got kills from seven different players and the Tigers were very balanced offensively with no player getting more than 21 attempts. Senior libero Sarah Meister collected 13 digs in the win as well, moving her into sole possession of fifth place all-time on Mizzou's career digs list. She now has 1,285 in her career. It was Wayne and Susan Kreklow's 1,000th match as women's volleyball coaches. They have of 764 of them.
