COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Mizzou baseball program has the nation's No. 31 recruiting class as Collegiate Baseball announced its annual top-40 recruiting classes. Bolstered by several highly-ranked signees, the class features a pair of top-15 round MLB Draft picks - Tanner Houck (12th round) and Bryce Montes De Oca (14th round) - and infielder Shane Benes, who was ranked as high as No. 72 nationally coming out of high school. This is Mizzou's highest-ranked class since compiling Baseball America's No. 24 class in 2012.
LSU finished with the nation's top class and Mizzou was one of 12 SEC schools to rank in the top 40 - Mizzou was ninth among the 14 SEC schools. The 2014 class, comprised of 12 individuals - nine freshmen and three junior college transfers - features two players who were selected in last year's MLB First Year Player Draft. Both draftees were high-end pitching prospects that should figure to help the Tigers right away in 2014. Below is a complete list of the top 40 classes nationally.
