DALLAS - Mizzou diver Clark Thomas earned a spot at August's 2014 AT&T USA Diving National Championships with a win on the 3-meter at last weekend's USA Diving Zone C National Preliminaries at SMU's A.R. Barr Pool in Dallas, Texas. Thomas became the second Tiger diver to qualify for the National Championships, joining Lauren Reedy.
Thomas scored 404.75 points in finals to secure his 3-meter title at the Zone C National Preliminaries. He sat in sixth with one dive remaining but scored a 73.10 on his last dive to propel himself to the win. In prelims, Thomas scored 391.60 points to enter the finals session in third-place.
The Olathe, Kan., native will dive 1-meter, 3-meter and platform at the National Championships, as he placed third on the platform (299.65) and sixth on 1-meter (300.60).
Reedy impressed at the Zone C National Preliminaries with wins on 3-meter (280.65) and 3-meter synchro (261.90) with diving partner Meghan Houston. She also took third on 1-meter (244.65) to round out her weekend.
