Kansas City, Mo. - Mizzou Women's Golfer Alina Rogers qualified for the 2014 U.S. Women's Amateur Championship this week as she fired a 4-over-par 76 on Tuesday to tie for first at the qualifying event held at Stanley Farms Golf Club in Kansas City, Mo.
A native of Toronto, Ontario, and a senior on next year's Mizzou team, Rogers advanced to the U.S. Amateur for the first time in her career by registering 14 pars and just four bogeys in her qualifying round.
Rogers was a steady performer for Missouri last season, competing in all-nine events for Head Coach Stephanie Priesmeyer. Her top finish last season came at the Web.com Intercollegiate where she finished 21st overall. She also participated in the 2014 SEC Championship, helping the club to a Top 10 finish.
The 2014 U.S. Women's Amateur Championship will be played at Nassau Country Club in Glen Cove, N.Y. The event, hosted Aug. 4-10, is celebrating his 100th anniversary this summer.
