Columbia, Mo. - Five Mizzou Women's Golfers were recognized by the Southeastern Conference on Thursday for their academic achievements this season. Seniors Kate Gallagher and Ariana Savich, junior Alina Rogers and sophomores Katherine Hepler and Haelena Schwemmer were named to the 2014 SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll. The distinction marks the third consecutive conference honor for both Gallagher and Savich, and the second for Rogers.
A total of 1,181 student-athletes were named to the 2014 Spring SEC Academic Honor Roll, which is based on grades from the 2013 Summer, 2013 Fall and 2014 Spring terms.
Any student-athlete who participates in a Southeastern Conference championship sport or a student-athlete who participates in a sport listed on his/her institution's NCAA Sports Sponsorship Form is eligible for nomination to the Academic Honor Roll. To be considered for the honor, a student-athlete must have a grade point average of 3.00 or above for either the preceding academic year (two semesters or three quarters) or have a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 or above at the nominating institution.
