Round One Team Results | Individual Results and Second Round Pairings
Head Coach Mark Leroux and Team USA are tied for second after the first round of play at the 2014 Toyota Junior Golf World Cup, hosted in Toyota City, Japan. Team USA was 8-under-par in its opening round and is just one shot off the pace set by Chile (-9).
Overall, 15 teams are competing in the Toyota Junior Golf World Cup, which began play today. Team USA is tied with Venezuela (-8) and is two shots better than tournament host, Japan (-6). The event, which runs June 24-27, is hosted at the Par 71 Chukyo Golf Club Ishino Course.
Team USA (searching for its first Toyota title since 2005) was led in the opening round by Cameron Young (Scarborough, N.Y.), who shot a 6-under-par 71. That opening round score was second overall, just one shot behind Jorge Garcia of Venezuela. Zachary Bauchou (-2) also finished under par for Team USA who will be paired with Venezuela and Chile on Wednesday. Rounding out scores for Team USA were Austen Truslow (Lake Mary, Fla.) and Tyler McDaniel (Manchester, Ky.). Truslow shot an even-par 71, while McDaniel shot 72.
