Columbia, Mo. - Mizzou Senior Golfer Emilio Cuartero was named to the Ping All-Central Region squad on Thursday as he led the Tigers back to the NCAA Championship for the first time since 2005.

The winner of the 2014 NCAA Columbia Regional last weekend, Cuartero heads into his final collegiate event boasting five career victories, including two this season. The Lleida, Spain, native also ranks among the SEC's leaders in scoring average (70.6) and is coming off a career-low tying 7-under-par 65 in the final round of last week's NCAA Regional.

The co-captain has been under par in six consecutive rounds heading into tomorrow's NCAA Championship and has been at or below par in 24-of-33 total rounds played this year.

Cuartero is one of just 157 golfers named to the Ping All-Region Teams in NCAA Division I. Six regional teams were named for the Central, Northeast, East, Southeast, Midwest and West portions of the country.
