Cesis, Latvia - Former Tiger, Liene Priede, is making an impact across the world from Columbia. The 5-10 guard moved back to her native country of Latvia following her 2013 graduation from Mizzou. She is currently playing for the Latvian team, Cesis.
Priede has helped her team to a 21-3 record this season, appearing in all 24 games. A member of the team's starting five, Priede averaged 11.3 points per game for the team on 40.6-percent shooting. Just as Mizzou practices, Priede is strong from the free throw line, shooting almost 79-percent from the stripe so far this season. The guard has also carried on Mizzou's unselfish mindset, proven by her 3.4 assists per game.
"I am very glad to be playing in front of my family and friends again," Priede said about her new adventure.
With Priede's talents, Cesis was able to play for first place in the Latvian League. Unfortunately the team fell to TTT Riga, 60-50, in the final round on April 6.
The season isn't over for Priede, however. She will continue playing for the Latvian National Team in the European Championships this June.
