Tigers Return To NCAA Championship
For the first time since 2005, Mizzou Golf is heading back to the NCAA Championships after a program-best third-place finish at the NCAA Columbia Regional last weekend ... Mizzou has qualified for nine NCAA Finals in its history and is making its second NCAA Finals appearance under Head Coach Mark Leroux ... Leroux has done an outstanding job in his 10 seasons at Mizzou, and has guided the program to six NCAA Regional appearances and now two has berths to the finals.

Cuartero Wins NCAA Columbia Regional
Emilio Cuartero (-11) became the second Tiger individual to win an NCAA Regional in four years as he fired a final-round 65 to claim the NCAA Columbia Regional at The Club at Old Hawthorne ... Cuartero was under-par all three rounds last week, firing successive rounds of 70-70-65 to win by one shot over teammate Hunter Kraus (-10) and Oklahoma State standouts Jordan Niebrugge (-10) and Talor Gooch (-10) ... Cuartero, Kraus and OSU's Wyndham Clark were the lone three players below par each round of the Regional.

Kraus Above Par In The Classroom
Hunter Kraus is not only playing some of his best golf down the stretch of his senior season, but the Memphis, Tenn., native is one of college golf's top students, carrying a 3.89 grade-point average in his double major of Chemistry and Latin ... Kraus was named a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar last summer and was a nominee for Academic All-America honors ... He was the SEC's Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2013 as well and finished his home campaign with a runner-up finish at last week's NCAA Columbia Regional.

Sundvold Making A Name At Mizzou
A famous name from a famous family, Wilson Sundvold is making his own name in Mizzou Athletics lore ... The son of NBA veteran and Mizzou Hall of Famer, Jon Sundvold, Wilson is a redshirt sophomore for the Tigers and has been a regular in the lineup all year, playing in 10 events with a Top 10 finish at the Bandon Dunes Championship earlier this spring in Oregon ... Sundvold was a key part of Missouri's Saturday charge at the NCAA Regional as well, firing a 1-under par 71 to help Mizzou finish third. > His father played four seasons at Mizzou and has his number retired from the program ... Sundvold is No. 11 in school history in scoring, dropping in 1,597 points without the services of the three-point line ... He was drafted No. 16 overall by Seattle in 1983 and played with the SuperSonics, San Antonio Spurs and Miami Heat.

Cuartero Boasts Two Wins In 2014
Cuartero added to his career wins list last weekend, claiming the NCAA Regional title ... It was Cuartero's second win of the season, with his first coming in the Columbia Regional preview event last fall ... Overall Cuartero has five career victories, No. 2 in school history behind former teammate, Jace Long, who won an incredible 11 events ... His final round 65 at Old Hawthorne also tied his collegiate best.

Missouri Natives Help Rebuild Mizzou Golf
Mark Leroux has done a remarkable job as the Head Coach of the Tiger program and has used several homegrown players to boost the squad ... The Tigers have two Missouri natives in their starting five this season, with Wilson Sundvold and Ryan Zech pacing that group ... Sundvold has played in 10 events, while Zech has played 11 times ... A native of Kearney, Mo., Zech is third on the team in scoring average (72.6) and finished 14th at last week's NCAA Regional.

Cuartero, Walker Earn All-SEC Recognition
Emilio Cuartero and Euan Walker earned all-league recognition from the SEC as Cuartero was named Second Team All-SEC and Walker was named to the All-Freshman squad ... Walker is second on the team and fourth among all SEC freshmen in scoring average (72.4), while Cuartero currently ranks No. 4 in the SEC with his 70.6 scoring average.

Prairie Dunes Familiar To Tigers
Prairie Dunes will be a familiar track for Missouri as the Tigers are set to play the course for the first time since 2011 ... Senior Emilio Cuartero will compete for the second time on the course after helping Missouri to a fifth place finish at the 2011 Big 12 Championship as a freshman ... Cuartero was second among all Tigers at the event and tied for 16th overall .. He shot rounds of 73-75-70-75 at the 72-hole event.

NCAA Championship Seeding, Pairings
Missouri enters this weekend seeded No. 27 at the NCAA Championship ... The Tigers are one of 10 SEC programs in action this week and will be paired with Kentucky and Kennesaw State in the first and second rounds ... The Tigers tee off No. 10 at 8:10 a.m. on Friday (May 23) and then at 1:30 p.m. on No. 1 on Saturday.
