Columbia, Mo. - Mizzou Basketball Head Coach Kim Anderson will throw out the first pitch Thursday afternoon before the St. Louis Cardinals host the Chicago Cubs at 12:45 p.m. at Busch Stadium in St. Louis.
A native of Sedalia, Anderson grew up a big baseball fan and will be taking in his first game of the year at Busch Stadium. The first-pitch opportunity is just the start of a full day for the first-year Tiger sideline boss. Later that evening, Anderson will attend the Thompson Foundation for Autism's Eighth Annual "It's In The Cards" charity event and auction. The event, which features Cardinals manager Mike Matheny, is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Hilton St. Louis Frontenac.
"I want to thank the St. Louis Cardinals Family for this incredible opportunity," Anderson said. "This has been a special few weeks since we got the job and I look forward to seeing many great Mizzou and Cardinals fans in St. Louis on Thursday, both at the Cardinals game and at the Thompson Center charity event."
