Future Tiger Carrie Shephard Named Miss Show-Me Basketball

Columbia, Mo. - Future Missouri Tiger Carrie Shephard was named Miss Show-Me Basketball as announced by the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association at their Academic All-State Banquet last weekend. The Miss Show-Me Basketball honor recognizes the top high school basketball player in the state of Missouri. The award is presented annually by the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association.

The guard, from South Pemiscot High School, finished her high school career with more than 2,500 points and was named MBCA Class 2 Player of the Year twice. She spent her senior season as varsity captain after shooting 51-percent, averaging 35 points per game, 7.0 assists, 9.6 rebounds and 4.5 steals per game in her junior year.

Shephard is also a two-time All-Region, All-District and All-Conference selection as well. In addition to basketball, Shephard is very active at South Pemiscot as she plays softball and volleyball, earning All-Conference honors in both sports as well. She has spent the last six years as Student Class President, and she is a member of the National Honor Society.

Shephard will join the Tigers for the 2014-15 season.
