Womens Golf Heads to SEC Championships

Columbia, Mo. -Mizzou Women's Golf will head to Birmingham, Ala. for its second SEC Championship Tournament. The 2014 SEC Women's Golf Championships will be held at Greystone Golf & Country Club in Birmingham, Ala. Teams will play the par 71 Founders Course.

The 54-hole tournament will be played in three rounds of 18 holes, with one round each day, Friday-Sunday, April 18-20. Tee times will begin at 8 a.m. each day and continue until 10:20 a.m.

The Tigers finished the regular season with four top-ten finishes including a first-place finish at the Pat Bradley Invitational in Sarasota, Fla. Missouri's current lineup boasts four top-ten finishes this season and the Tigers have finished among the top 20 on 11 different occasions this year. Mizzou is coming off of a top-10 finish at the Web.com Intercollegiate where the Tigers tied for sixth overall. Junior Alina Rogers led the team with a 21st place finish overall.

The Tigers will face a challenging tournament field as seven SEC teams are ranked in the Golfstat Top 25. Mizzou will see No. 4 Arkansas, No. 6 South Carolina, No. 7 Alabama, No. 13 Vanderbilt, No. 16 LSU, No. 19 Florida and No. 23 Auburn. In addition, No. 26 Mississippi State, No. 32 Kentucky and No. 36 Texas A&M join the highly ranked opponents.
