COLUMBIA, Mo. - Following a two-week layoff, the Mizzou tennis team returns to the court on 10 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 16 against the Wichita State Shockers at the Wichita Country Club.
The Tigers enter the match with 2-4 record in dual, including wins over Saint Louis and SIU-Edwardsville. Senior Cierra Gaytan-Leach, sophomore Kelli Hine and freshman Tracy Dong all lead the team with three singles wins apiece. Senior Rachel Stuhlmann and freshman Cassidy Spearman have each won two so far in the spring.
In doubles action, Gaytan-Leach and Dong, the Tigers' top team, pace the team with three wins in six matches.
Wichita State comes into the weekend with a 4-2 record and in the midst of a four-game winning streak. The Shockers have reeled off wins over Creighton (5-0), UMKC (4-0), Fresno State (4-3) and Illinois (4-3).
Following Sunday's match, Missouri stays on the road for three duals in Florida. The Tigers first take on Central Florida on Friday, Feb. 21 at 10 a.m. Mizzou then plays a double header on Sunday, Feb. 23, with a matchup at South Florida at 11 a.m. ET and a 6 p.m. ET dual against Oakland in Orlando, Fla.
