COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Mizzou men's and women's swimming team takes to the pool for the two-day Tiger Invite this weekend for their final tune-up before next month's Southeastern Championships. The meet, a USA Swimming sanctioned event, begins on Friday, Jan. 31 at 5:30 p.m., at the Mizzou Aquatic Center, followed by sessions at 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1. Admission to the meet is $5 per day for fans 13 and over. Heat sheets will be for sale for $5.

Mizzou is coming off a sweep of Drury on Jan. 25, where the Tiger men prevailed 149-92 and the women won 121-118. Four different Missouri swimmers earned two event wins during the meet: juniors Eegan Groome (500 free and 1000 free), Andrew Phillips (200 free and 200 fly) and Sam Tierney (100 back and 200 breast) and sophomore Anna Patterson (50 free and 100 fly).

At last year's Tiger Invite, Missouri added five NCAA 'B' qualifying times. This year's squad enters the weekend with one individual 'A' cut (junior Danielle Barbiea) and 61 total individual 'B' times, including 39 for the men and 22 for the women.

Following the Tiger Invite, Mizzou is idle until the 2014 SEC Swimming and Diving Championships, Feb. 18-22, in Athens, Ga.
