Swim and Dive Set for Triple-Dual on Saturday

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Mizzou swimming and diving teams return to the pool on Saturday, Jan. 18 when the squads travel to Iowa City, Iowa, to face Big Ten Conference foes Iowa, Indiana and Illinois (women only). The meet starts at 11 a.m. at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center. 

MIZZOU RANKINGS

The Mizzou menare ranked seventh in the current CSCAA rankings, which is a new program record. The Tigers' previous best was 14th, set on Nov. 6, 2013, Dec. 6, 2012 and Dec. 7, 2011. 

ABOUT IOWA
Iowa's men's squad is ranked 23rd in the most recent poll and owns a 1-4 mark, including a 182-113 win over Michigan State on Oct. 18. The women are 5-2 on the year with wins over Michigan State (182-117), Northern Iowa (238-61), Nebraska (167-133), South Dakota State (252-48) and Iowa State (165-135.

ABOUT INDIANA
Both Indiana teams are ranked coming into the weekend, with the women at No. 11 and the men at No. 16. The Hoosier women own a record of 3-3, while the men are 2-4. 

ABOUT ILLINOIS
The Fighting Illini boast a record of 5-2-1 on the year, plus the team will face Iowa State on Friday, Jan. 17. Illinois has wins over Eastern Michigan, Liberty, Michigan State, Illinois State and Kansas. 

LAST TIME OUT
The Tigers competed in a double dual last weekend against Virginia Tech and Tennessee in Knoxville, Tenn. The women earned a split, with a 163-137 win over the Hokies and a 192.5-106.5 loss to the Lady Vols. Juniors Danielle Barbiea and Loren Figueroa each won two events to lead Mizzou. Figueroa swept both springboard events, while Barbiea took first in the 50 free and 100 fly. 

The Missouri men suffered losses to both teams, with a 164-136 loss to Virginia Tech and a 175-125 defeat to Tennessee. Junior Sam Tierney claimed top honors in both the 100 and 200 breast events, while senior David Bonuchi scored a season high 427.6 points to take first on the 3-meter. 

TIGERS IN THE INDIVIDUAL RANKINGS
On an individual level, 12 different Tigers rank among the nation's best in their respective events. Leading the way is junior Danielle Barbiea, who is tied for the nation's best time in the 100 fly (51.13) and is ranked in three other events.
