COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Tigers will go back-to-back this weekend, as they hit the road for the first time during the 2014 indoor season.  The trip will begin Friday (Jan. 17) afternoon with the Badger Indoor Open, then continue into Saturday with the Missouri vs. Wisconsin Dual.  Both meets will be held at the Camp Randall Memorial Sports Center in Madison, Wis.

Badger Indoor Open

Among those kicking off the weekend in Friday's events are several All-Time Top Ten performers on the women's side, including Missouri School Record holders Chelsie Stevens (So.) and Kearsten Peoples (Jr.).

Stevens is in the line-up for the 60-meter dash both Friday and Saturday, she currently holds the record with her top time of 7.56 from last year.

Peoples is also slated to compete in both meets, with the weight throw on Friday and both the weight and shot put on Saturday.  She holds the record for the shot put (16.87m / 55-4.25) and is No. 2 on the weight throw list (19.81m / 65-0).

The duo of senior Katie Evans and junior Jill Rushin will also be back in action this weekend.  They both began their season in December at the ISU Holiday Preview, where Rushin moved up to the No. 2 spot on the All-Time List for the shot put (16.72m / 54-10.25) and Evans improved to No. 6 (16.00m / 52-6).

Evans and Rushin will be back in the shot put ring on Friday and Saturday, and Evans will also compete in the weight throw both days.  They will also have the unique opportunity to compete in the discus, an event only officially contested during the outdoor season, on Friday.  Joining them in the discus competition will be sophomore Nick Sublett and freshman Tanner Buschmann.

Missouri vs. Wisconsin Dual

More All-Time Top Ten performers will hit the track against Wisconsin on Saturday, including Missouri School Record holder and reigning Southeastern Conference (SEC) 60-meter dash Champion, sophomore Markesh Woodson.  Woodson began his season last weekend at the Missouri Opener where he won the 60-meter dash competition in 6.69, within sight of his 6.60 record from last year.

Another returning Missouri School Record holder will be hitting the track this weekend for the first meet of his final season as a Tiger.  Senior Max Storms currently holds the Outdoor Record for the 10,000-meters (29:15.61), and is No. 3 on the indoor list for the 5,000-meter run (14:14.20).  Storms has already had quite the year, qualifying for the Olympic Trials in the Marathon in November.  He will compete in Saturday's 3,000-meter run.

A couple of new names to the All-Time Top Ten list will also be back in action on Saturday.  Freshman Lynnsey Brim landed herself at No. 8 on the list for the 60-meter dash in her debut performance of 7.80 at last weekend's Missouri Opener.  She finished second overall in the event, behind teammate Chelsie Stevens

Fellow-freshman Alyssa Applebee also began her career in the black and gold with an All-Time Top Ten mark, placing second in pole vault at the Missouri Opener to land at No. 7 on the list (3.65m / 11-11.75).

Other returning All-Time Top Ten performers include junior Morgan Whitson, who is No. 6 on the All-Time List for the women's pentathlon.  She is in the line-up for the 60-meter hurdles and long jump on Friday, and the high jump and shot put on Saturday.

Sophomores Jonathan Ilori and Tony Carodine will hit the triple jump runway for the first time this season on Saturday.  Ilori currently holds the No. 4 spot on the Indoor All-Time Top Ten list for the event (15.53m / 50-11.5), and Carodine is No. 6 (15.32m / 50-3.25).  They are also scheduled to compete in the 60-meter dash and long jump during Saturday's competition.
