Swimming and Diving Travels to Missouri State Friday

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Mizzou men's and women's swimming and diving teams return to the pool on Friday, Nov. 8 when the teams travel to Springfield, Mo., to face Missouri State at the Hammons Student Center Pool at 5 p.m.

The Tiger men, currently ranked 14th in the nation, enter Friday's meet with a dual record of 3-1.Last time out, Missouri posted a 156-131 win over Texas A&M on Nov. 1. Mizzou won 11 events during the meet, with juniors Mack Darragh (200 fly and 200 IM), Eegan Groome (500 and 1000 free) and Sam Tierney (100 and 200 breast) earn two victories against the Aggies.

Senior Logan Mosley and freshman Carter Griffin both notched NCAA B qualifying times on Nov. 1. Mosley swam a 400 medley relay 100 back split of 48.34 to earn his time, while Griffin won the 200 back in 1:46.08.

On the women's side, junior Danielle Barbiea and sophomore Lauren Reedy both recorded victories. Barbiea won the 100 fly in a season best time of 54.26, while Reedy won the 1-meter springboard with 278.63 points.

In the 400 medley relay, Barbiea posted a 100 fly split of 53.36 as she tracked down Olympian Cammile Adams (55.35).

On a national level, six different individuals and six Tiger relays currently rank among the top-20 in the nation:

Both the Missouri State men's and women's teams enter Friday with perfect 3-0 records following wins over Drury, Evansville and Southern Illinois. The teams also competed at the 2013 Show-Me Showdown and each took home second-place (to Mizzou).

The Bear men are one of the nation's top under-the-radar teams. Missouri State's Paul Le currently ranks nationally in three different events: third in the 100 back (48.13), seventh in the 200 back (1:45.61) and 21st in the 50 free (20.35). Additionally, Uris Kalnins ranks 14th nationally in the 200 IM (1:49.63).

Following the dual with Missouri State, the Tigers are idle until three-day Mizzou Invite Nov. 21-23 at the Mizzou Aquatic Center.
