COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou soccer junior midfielder Kaysie Clark was named to the 2013 All-Southeastern Conference first team in voting conducted by the league's coaches, the conference announced on Monday. The honor is the first SEC postseason award of Clark's career, although she was a unanimous member of the Big 12 Conference All-Newcomer Team in 2011.
As a junior in 2013, Clark leads the Tigers with six goals and three assists for 15 points. Both her goals and points totals are single-season career highs, besting her four goals and 11 points as a sophomore in 2011. Clark has seen action in all 19 of Mizzou's matches in 2013 and earned 18 starts. She played over 90 or more minutes in nine games and 80 or more minutes in 14 contests.
Clark notched the Tigers' game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over then-No. 7 Florida on Sept. 29. She also tallied goals against then-No. 9 Baylor, Memphis, SEMO, Mississippi State and Vanderbilt this season.
Over her three-year career, Clark has played in 59 games with 56 starts at midfield. She has accumulated 35 career points on 12 goals and 11 assists.
Clark and the rest of the Tigers open play at the 2013 SEC Tournament on Monday, Nov. 4 against Arkansas at 6:30 p.m. in Orange Beach, Ala.
