Tigers Fourth in USTFCCCA Preseason Regional Rankings

Aug 26, 2013

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Missouri men's cross country team landed in fourth for the Midwest Region's Preseason Ranking, as released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Monday.  This is a jump up for the young team from their fifth-place finish at the Midwest Regional Championship last year.

Key returners for the Tigers include seniors Hayden Legg and Merid Seleshi, and sophomores Tyler Schneider, Evan Chiplock, and Joe McKenna.  These five, among others, helped bring the Tigers back into the USTFCCCA National Rankings for the first time since 2000 after they were voted in at No. 30 in the nation last year.  Legg ran to a Second Team All-SEC honor at the conference championship last year, while Schneider, Chiplock, and McKenna took up three of the seven spots on the All-SEC Freshman team.

The Tigers will kick off their season on September 6 with a dual against defending SEC Champions: Arkansas.
