Storms Earns Academic All-District Honor

May 30, 2013

Columbia, Mo. - Senior Max Storms collected another academic honor today as he was named to the Capital One Academic All-District Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).  Storms finished out his undergraduate work in Civil Engineering with a 3.76 GPA.

This is his third academic honor this year, after being recognized as an USTFCCCA Academic All-American and earning the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship to work toward a Master's in Civil Engineering at Mizzou.

Storms' career at Mizzou has been a successful one, marked by a Missouri School Record in the 10,000m Run (29:15.61), two NCAA Championships West Preliminary Round appearances, and a 56th-place finish at the 2012 NCAA Cross Country Championships.  Storms was one of the 21 Tiger athletes who travelled to Austin, TX, last week to compete in the NCAA Championships West Preliminary Round.  The Kansas City-native was just bumped out of qualifying for the NCAA Final Round after his 13th-place finish.  He will return next year for one final indoor season in the black and gold.

Storms now advances to the Academic All-American ballot, which will be voted on and released in June.  For the latest updates on your Tigers, stay tuned to MUTigers.com and follow the team on Twitter @MIZ_TrackField.
