Columbia Regional - 2013 NCAA Division I Softball Championship
Game Four - Oregon State (34-23) 6, Stony Brook (35-25) 0 - Notes
- Oregon State won the first elimination game of the 2013 NCAA Columbia Regional. The Beavers pounded out seven hits and scored the most runs, six, in any game this weekend, to knock off Stony Brook, 6-0. The loss eliminated Stony Brook from postseason play.
- Seven different OSU players recorded one hit. No player in the game had a multi-hit game.
- Oregon State delivered its big offensive push during the fourth inning, as it scored five runs, all with two outs, to put the game away.
- Elizabeth Santana delivered the big hit in the frame, driving in three runs on a two-out double to put OSU up 6-0. The double was Santana's ninth of the year and she now has 26 RBIs this season. It was Santana's third three-RBI game this season and sixth multi-RBI game of 2013.
- Desiree Beltran hit her eighth home run of the year in the second inning to give Oregon State an early 1-0 lead. The run was the first of the Regional for OSU, who was shutout by Hofstra, 2-0, on Friday. Beltran's home run tied her career season-best of 13.
- Marina Demore earned the win for Oregon State. She improved to 21-12 on the season and scattered just two hits over 7.0 innings of work to complete the shutout.
- The 21st win on the year moved Demore into a tie for ninth on the single-season wins list at OSU. Demore is tied with Tarrah Beyster, who won 21 games in 1998.
- The shutout win was the seventh of the year for Oregon State and first since a 1-0 win at No. 10 California on April 21, 2013.
