Mizzou Cheer Earns Two Top-10 Finishes at College Nationals

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.- The University of Missouri Cheerleaders earned two top ten finishes in Daytona Beach, Fla. this past weekend at the National Cheerleaders Association national competition.

The competition is the largest national colleigate cheer competition in the nation, as over 5,000 student-athletes and thousands of spectators attend the event. Teams compete in The Band Shell, the Ocean Center and in Peabody Auditorium during the event.

Mizzou was well represented as two Tiger squads advanced from preliminary competition straight to the finals.

"It was AWESOME," coach Suzy Thompson said. "So exciting for BOTH squads to make it straight to finals! I am so proud of all the hard work and dedication they put in to get them to this point, they are an amazing group of athletes! These athletes even gave up spring break to practice, I just love them all and am so proud!"

Mizzou competed in the Small Coed Division, and the Large Intermediate Division. After the finals, Small Coed placed sixth and Large seventh. Final results are listed below.
