Columbia, Mo. - The first Palmer Cup rankings of the spring were announced on Thursday and a pair of Missouri golfers, senior Jace Long (United States) and junior Emilio Cuartero (Europe), were listed among the Top 20 of their respective sides.
The top six golfers in the new rankings from both the United States and Europe will be among the 10 individuals selected to compete in the 2013 Palmer Cup at Wilmington Country Club in Wilmington, Del.
A native of Dixon, Mo., Long is coming off a win at the 2013 Washington State Snowman Getaway earlier this week, where he led the Tigers to the team title at the 14-team event.
Cuartero finished third overall at the Washington State event and also claimed a win at the spring-opening The Farms Collegiate with rounds of 71-73-71.
The rankings will be updated on March 6, March 20 and April 3. The six participants selected by the Palmer Cup Rank¬ing will be announced on April 17 with the balance of both teams named the following week.
Missouri Golf returns to action March 11-12 at the San Diego Classic.
