COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Senior Dominique Bouchard tied for the fastest 200 back time in the preliminary session to advance to Saturday night's A final on the last day of the 2013 SEC Swimming and Diving Championships. Bouchard's time also broke her own school record in the event.
Swimming in the second to last heat of the 200 back prelims, Bouchard clocked a time of 1:51.28 to break her Mizzou record. The time also tied her with Florida's Sinead Russell as the faster qualifier for tonight's championship final. Bouchard broke her previous record of 1:51.54, which she set at the 2011 NCAA Championships.
Freshman Madison Bridges set a new career best with a 1:57.45 and earned a spot in the C final and move up a spot to fifth all-time at Mizzou. Also in the event, junior Andrea Marko entered Missouri's top-10 with a personal best swim of 2:01.54.
Swimming the 100 free for the first time this season, freshman Anna Patterson placed 15th in the event with a time of 49.25. The time, which was good enough for a berth in the B final, puts Patterson third all-time in the Tiger record books.
Three Tigers claimed a spot in the 200 breast C finals, led by senior Rachel Ripley's 17th-place finish in 2:13.32. Also advancing were senior Amanda Masters (2:13.67) and freshman Danielle Spradlin (2:15.06). Freshman Lauren Stoeckle earned a personal best 2:15.26 in the event.
