COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Freshman Anna Patterson set a new Mizzou record and senior Dominique Bouchard picked up a fourth-place finish to highlight day four action at the 2013 SEC Swimming and Diving Championships Friday, Feb. 22 in College Station, Texas. Patterson broke Mizzou's 200 fly mark and Bouchard earned her top-four finish in the 100 back on Friday.
With just one day of competition remaining, the Tigers sit in eighth place with 391 points.
Patterson started the Tigers off strong in the B final of the 200 fly. The freshman took second in the consolation heat in a record-breaking time of 1:58.13, besting Colleen Gordon's old Mizzou mark of 1:58.33.
In the 100 back A final, Bouchard's time of 52.08 was her second-fastest ever and placed her fourth in the event. In the morning session, Bouchard swam an automatic qualifying time of 52.02 to break her own school record.
Senior Cassie Cunningham won the 100 back B final in a personal best 52.31, while sophomore Danielle Barbiea took eighth in 54.31. Freshman Madison Bridges placed eighth in the C final with a swim of 56.22.
Competing in the 100 breast C final, the Tiger trio of seniors Amanda Masters and Rachel Ripley and freshman Lauren Stoeckle placed fifth, sixth and seventh, respectively. Masters clocked a time of 1:02.15, Ripley swam a 1:02.20 and Stoeckle posted a 1:02.27.
The Mizzou 400 medley relay team did not place as they were disqualified.
Mizzou concludes competition at the SEC Championships with day five prelims action at 10 a.m. and the finals session at 6 p.m.
