
West Takes Eighth at NCAA Indoor Championships

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou track and field junior Ricky West finished his indoor season on a high note on Saturday night (March 10) at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships as he earned All-America honors in the men's 800m run with an eighth-place finish after clocking in at 1:49.75. He is the Tigers' first top-eight finisher in the 800m run at the NCAA Indoor Championships since Derrick Petersonin 2000.
Overall, Mason McHenry of Arizona State won the event at 1:47.96. The first team All-America honors for West add to a great year for the middle-distance star, who has shined under the direction of Peterson, who now coahes the Tiger 800m runners. West claimed the Big 12 Indoor Championship in the 800m run as well this season.
