COLUMBIA, Mo. - The No. 9 Mizzou soccer team continues its road trip with a 1 p.m. ET (Noon CT) game at Tennessee on Sunday, Sept. 30.
The Tigers enter the matchup with a 10-1 overall record and a 5-0 mark in Southeastern Conference action. Missouri is coming off a 2-1 win over Georgia in Athens, Ga., on Friday.
Sophomore Abi Raymer notched her fifth goal of the season in the 19th minute to give Mizzou an early 1-0 lead over the Bulldogs. Georgia answered in the 36th minute on a long-range chip over redshirt sophomore goalkeeper McKenzie Sauerwein's head for a 1-1 game.
Just five minutes into the second half, junior Alyssa Diggs put the Tigers back on top, 2-1, when she tallied her fourth goal of the season. Missouri's defense held strong for the rest of the game, highlighted by a diving save from Sauerwein with eight minutes remaining, to give the Tigers the victory.
