No. 17 Mizzou Faces South Carolina on ESPNU Sunday

COLUMBIA, S.C. - The No. 17 Mizzou soccer team continues SEC play on Sunday, Sept. 16 when the Tigers face South Carolina at 2 p.m. ET (1 p.m.). The contest will be nationally televised on ESPNU.

Mizzou enters the contest 6-1 on the season and 1-0 in SEC play after a 2-0 win at Auburn on Friday. Sophomore Kaysie Clark, off an assist from senior Jessica Greer, notched the game-winner in the 29th minute to put Missouri up 1-0. In the 52nd minute, senior Haley Krentz gathered a pass from sophomore Taylor Grant and unleashed a 22-yard score for a 2-0 Mizzou advantage.

Redshirt-sophomore goalkeeper McKenzie Sauerwein made a season high eight saves in goal for the visiting Tigers.

South Carolina is 3-2-2 overall and 0-0-1 in SEC play after a 0-0 double-overtime tie against Mississippi State on Friday night.

Sunday's game against South Carolina marks the sixth time the Tigers have played on ESPNU since the 2008 season. The contest against the Gamecocks also marks the fourth road game Mizzou has played on the network. In its other three road games on ESPNU, Mizzou has a record of 2-0-1, with wins against Texas A&M (3-0 in 2008) and Oklahoma (5-2 in 2011), plus a tie with Texas A&M (4-4 in 2009).
