At Mizzou Athletics annual ROARS award show, the Mizzou Soccer Seniors ended their careers with a win as their 3 goal come back effort against Kansas earned the captains the Female Highlight of the Year.
Kendra Collins, Mallory Stipetich, and Kelsey Blincow each scored a goal in the final 6 minutes against KU after being down 2-0 to claim a victory in the Border Showdown.
From the Game Recap: "With the Tigers trailing 2-0, Naperville, Ill., native Collins got Missouri on the scoreboard in the 84th minute with a chip over the Kansas keeper from the top of the box. The goal was the third in four games for the senior.
Less than a minute later, Stipetich headed home a free kick from freshman Kaysie Clark to tie the game at 2-2. Stipetich's tally was the her first of the year and her first since her freshman season in 2008.
The Tigers' improbable rally was capped in the 89th minute when sophomore Alyssa Diggs was taken down in the box and MU was awarded a penalty kick. Blincow calmly stepped up and converted the PK to give the Tigers their first lead of the game, 3-2."
All three ladies were in attendance to accept the award, the ROARS are an annual award show that's part Oscars, part ESPY's, all Mizzou. It showcases the best that Mizzou Athletics has to offer.
