Columbia, Mo. - On day two of the Missouri Grand Prix, the University of Missouri Tigers saw more success and more swimmers meet qualifications to participate in the Olympic Time Trials. Mizzou Aquatics are hosting the Missouri Grand Prix, one of seven around the nation, as a way for elite swimmers to meet Olympic qualifications as well as tune up for the upcoming 2012 London Olympic Games.
Junior Amanda Masters met the Olympic Time Trials qualifying standards in the 200 Breaststroke event. Masters finished 11th with a time of 2:34.53, to meet the Olympic qualification of 2:35.99. Canadian Dominique Bouchard finished 7th in the 100 Backstroke with a speedy time of 1:01.62.
Preliminary events for Sunday begin at 9:00 AM on February 12 at the Mizzou Aquatic Center with finals beginnings at 5:30 PM, also at the Mizzou Aquatic Center. For more information on the Missouri Grand Prix and Mizzou Swimming and Diving, check back at MUTigers.com.
