- Missouri broke its single-game record for total yardage. The Tigers racked up 744 yards, eclipsing the 665 yards (465 rush, 200 pass) it recorded vs. Kansas in 1949.
- Missouri also broke the school record for margin of victory. The 69-0 win topped the 60-0 win vs. Centre (Ky.) in 1928. Missouri also beat Colorado 58-0 in 2008. The school record for points is also 69. In addition to today's game MU scored 69 vs. Nevada in 2008 and 69 vs. Kansas in 1969.
- Overall Missouri scored nine TDs, tying the school record established in that win over Nevada as well.
- The Tiger offense scored 42 first-half points, tying previous highs against Furman (2009) and Southeast Missouri State ( 2008).
- Missouri scored three consecutive TDs to open the first quarter. That is the seventh time Mizzou has accomplished that feat under Gary Pinkel.
- Missouri scored on its opening possession, a first for Mizzou in 2011. The Tigers went three-and-out in its opening drives vs. Miami (Ohio) and at Arizona State.
- Defensively the Tigers were outstanding. Missouri held the Leathernecks to just 44 total yards and pitched a shutout. The 44 total yards are the third fewest in school history. Mizzou held #12 Alabama to just 23 yards in 1968 and limited Kansas State to 18 yards in 1967.
- The Tigers also limited Western Illinois to one fi rst down, zero in the second half.
- The shutout was the first since MU defeated Iowa State 14-0 last season in Ames, Iowa.
- Henry Josey enjoyed a record breaking day. He ran for a career high 263 yards, 129 of which came in the first quarter. His 263 yards are fourth in school history and the most since Tony Temple blistered Arkansas for 281 rushing yards in the 2008 Cotton Bowl.
- Josey's 129 yards in the 1st quarter were the most by a Tiger in the fi rst quarter since Brad Smith's 145 in 2005.
- Josey scored three TDs on the ground as well. He found pay dirt on back-to-back possessions in the opening period, his second career multi-TD game. The Angleton, Texas, native matched his career high of three rushing TD's established last season against McNeese State (Sept. 11, 2010).
- Josey averaged 18.8 yards per carry, needing just 14 rushes to reach 263 yards. In addition, he is just the eighth Missouri running back to top 200 yards in a game, joining Brad Smith (3 times), Brock Olivo (2), DeVaughn Black, Harry Ice, Tony Temple, Darrell Wallace and Devin West (all once each). West continues to hold the Mizzou single-game rushing record with 319 yards vs. Kansas in 1998.
- Josey scored his third TD on a career high 68-yard scamper. The 68-yard rush is the longest play of the year for MU.
- James Franklin enjoyed another magnifi cent day under center, throwing for 246 yards and three scores. Over his last two games Franklin is a combined 44-of-67 for 565 yards, five TDs and no interceptions. Franklin opened the game on fire, hitting 7-of-8 throws for 101 yards and a TD.
- Two of his three scores went to senior Wes Kemp, his first TD receptions of the season. Kemp now has eight career TD receptions.
- Jared Culver had a record day adding his first career rushing TD. Culver ran 11 times for a career high 96 yards and that score.
- EJ Gaines scored his first career TD on a 44-yard punt return in the fourth quarter. It was Missouri's first special-teams score of the season.
- Robert Steples recorded his first career interception.
- Greg White got his first career carries, running 10 times for 40 yards.
