Columbia, Mo. - No. 73 Missouri faced the Colorado Buffaloes for Senior Day on Sat., April 23rd at the Green Tennis Center where they improved to 4-7 Big 12 and 12-9 overall. The Tigers began the match off effectively by winning all three of their doubles matches to pull out ahead of the Buffaloes 1-0 after snagging the doubles point. Senior Mallory Weber and partner Marlen Hacke quickly broke past their opponents 8-3 while the pairing of senior Kaitlyn Ritchie and Maria Christensen battled and pulled through 8-6 after being down 4-1 and eventually catching up 6-6 at No. 2 doubles. Freshman Rachel Stuhlmann and junior Jamie Mera worked well together to beat Colorado 8-2 rapidly.
Missouri continued to play strong and efficiently when competing in singles. Christensen finished first on the singles courts, giving the Tigers a 2-0 lead, cruising past Carla Manzi 6-0, 6-1. Hacke completed her singles match, at No. 3, against Michala Jensen winning 6-2, 6-2. Weber had a strong showing for her last home singles match when she defeated Abbie Probert 6-2, 6-1 on court No. 2 while fellow senior, Ritchie, fought to win against Kristina Schleich. Ritchie won her first set 6-3 but dropped the second set 3-6. In the tiebreaker, Ritchie rallied and came out the victor winning ten points over Schleich's eight.
