COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Mizzou track and field team had a great early-season meet at the Stanford Invitational as three of the four runners that competed set all-time Mizzou top-10 marks in their respective events. Sophomore Max Storms (Kansas City, Mo.) was one of the highlights as he placed third in his section of the men's 5,000m run with a time of 14:19.04, which ranks him 10th on Mizzou's all-time performance list in the event.
But Storms wasn't the only Tiger to see success as Bailey Belvis (Prosper, Texas) and Kinsey Farren (Dallas, Texas) each turned in top-10 nods. Belvis ran in the 5,000m run and clocked in at 16:37.89, which ranks her seventh on Mizzou's all-time performance list at 5,000m. Farren clocked a 10,000m run time of 35:12.14, which also ranks her seventh in the Mizzou annals. Belvis placed 13th in her section while Farren checked in at 17th.
Laura Roxberg (Overland Park, Kan.), who had a breakout season during the indoor slate, also competed at the meet for the Tigers. She seemed to pick up right where she left off and clocked a time of 4:33.27 in the 1,500m run, a good early-season mark that should set her up for another good outdoor season.
Mizzou will be back in action this weekend as it will host the Missouri Relays on Friday and Saturday. Competition for that meet will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Friday and resume at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
