COLUMBIA, Mo. - The University of Missouri and Arizona State University have agreed to move their football game this fall to a Friday night, in order to accommodate a request from ESPN to televise the game live nationally. Originally scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 10th in Tempe, Ariz., the game has been moved up one day, to Friday, Sept. 9th, and it will be aired live on ESPN with kickoff set for 9:30 p.m. CDT (7:30 p.m. MST).
The Tigers opened spring camp this Tuesday with the first of 14 practices leading up to the annual Black & Gold Spring Game, to be held Saturday, April 16th at 1 p.m. at Faurot Field/Memorial Stadium. They'll eventually open the 2011 season when they host defending MAC champion Miami (Ohio) in Columbia on Sept. 3rd.
Season ticket renewal forms for the upcoming season will be in the mail in mid-March, so Tiger fans are encouraged to look for the forms and return them before the priority renewal deadline of April 29. Fans also should be on the lookout for information on "Mizzou's 30-for-30 in April" promotion, where 30 fans who order season tickets prior to the priority deadline will be randomly selected each day in April to win exclusive Mizzou experiences or prize packages. More information on this exciting and unique promotion will be available at www.mutigers.com in late March.
The Tigers have been to six consecutive bowl games, and have won 40 games over the last four seasons - a figure which ranks as 10th-best in the nation from 2007-10.
Here's an updated look at the full 2011 Mizzou Football schedule. All game times and television information aside from the Arizona State game will be finalized in the summer, so be sure to stay tuned to www.mutigers.com for updates.
